Arab Finance: Egypt's renewable energy capacity, spanning wind, solar, and hydropower, is expected to increase to 8,097 megawatts by next summer, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat revealed.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to follow up on renewables projects in the country, Esmat said that this expected increase will be added from ongoing energy projects.
The minister also referred to other projects to be carried out over the upcoming years until 2029.
Currently, the country’s clean energy capacity stands at 6,597 megawatts, he mentioned.
