EETC implements EGP 7.6B network upgrades in FY 2023/24

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) allocated approximately EGP 7.6 billion during the previous fiscal year (FY) 2023/2024 for significant upgrades to the country’s electricity infrastructure, as per a statement by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

These investments focused on replacing and renewing high and ultra-high voltage stations and lines, expanding and adding new facilities, and establishing and developing regional controls.

The ministry highlighted its commitment to renewable energy, reporting that a total renewable energy capacity of about 22.8 gigawatts has either been completed, is under construction, or is nearing completion.

This includes projects involving storage batteries aimed at maintaining the stability of the national electricity grid.
