Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a varied performance at Tuesday’s close, with the EGX30 index as the sole loser.
Market capitalization concluded the session at EGP 2.112 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index lost 0.49%, closing the session at 3,0871.1 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 (EWI) added 0.27% to end at 7,333.78 points, while the EGX100 inched up 0.1%, wrapping up the session at 10,427.45 points.
The sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, gained 0.69%, concluding the session at 2,994.08 points.
Today’s trading saw million 915.951 shares exchanged over 102,822 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 4.242 billion.
Respecting investor’s trading activity, retail investors seized 72.73% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 27.26% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 83.97% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 4.8% and 11.23%, respectively.
Arab and non-Arab foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 33.585 million and EGP 672.132 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 705.717 million.
