Egypt, Italy mull collaboration in food security field

Arab Finance: Egypt and Italy have probed cooperation in the field of food security, according to a statement.
This came during a meeting between the Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk, and the Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida.
For his part, the Egyptian Agriculture Minister expressed his country’s interest in benefiting from the Italian extensive expertise in modern agricultural technology, agricultural industrialization, medicinal and aromatic plants, and agricultural trade.
This would contribute to bolstering the country’s gross domestic product, the minister said.
Moreover, the minister called for establishing an Egyptian-Italian businessmen association aimed at creating investment opportunities in both countries and exchanging ideas and successful projects.
