Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has met with Italian energy giant Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi to review the company’s ongoing activities in Egypt in the fields of research and exploration, as per a presidency statement.

The meeting also touched upon Eni’s development operations that will allow the firm to maintain high production rates from the fields, alongside the progress made in energy efficiency and sustainability projects that bolster efforts for an equitable energy transition.

For his part, El-Sisi stressed Egypt's keenness to continue the development of the investment climate in Egypt, praising Eni’s community role and its support for a number of development projects in the country.

On the other hand, Descalzi affirmed Eni’s keenness to enhance its role as one of the largest companies in the energy market in Egypt.
