Egypt’s annual core inflation hits 24.4% in October

Arab Finance: The annual core inflation in Egypt recorded 24.4% in October 2024, compared to 25% in September 2024, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on November 10th.

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) reached 1.3% last October, compared to 1% last September and 1.8% in October 2023.

The CBE’s data also showed that the annual urban headline CPI hit 26.5% in October, versus 26.4% in September.

Earlier that day, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that Egypt's annual headline inflation dropped to 26.3% in October 2024, compared to 38.5% in the same month of 2023.
