Badawi discusses Eni’s development plans for Zohr, Narges fields

Arab Finance: Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, reviewed Italian company Eni’s activities across Egypt, according to an official statement.

During Badawi’s meeting with Francesco Gasparri, General Manager of Eni in Egypt, they discussed the company’s current preparations to resume development operations at the Zohr field and commence development operations at the Narges field in the Mediterranean Sea.

Badawi affirmed that the petroleum sector is working to overcome the challenges facing companies in carrying out their work.

He added that the government’s top priority is to boost production and reserves of oil and gas in order to meet the needs of the local market while lowering the import bill.

In December, Eni delayed the production of 220 million cubic feet of gas per day from Egypt's Zohr field until May 2025.
