Arab Finance: The Italian energy company Eni has delayed the production of 220 million cubic feet of gas per day from Egypt's Zohr field until May 2025, instead of the previously scheduled January, an unnamed government official told Asharq Business.
Eni attributed the move to the unstable sea winter weather, extending drilling periods.
Eni has repeatedly postponed drilling operations at the Mediterranean-based Zohr field.
These delays followed the rejection of Eni’s request to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments through the Damietta liquefaction plant due to the local market's pressing demand for the field's entire output.
