El-Khatib meets Unilever GM to discuss expansion in Egypt, Africa

Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with Cem Yuksel, General Manager of Unilever for North Africa, the Levant, and Iraq, to review the company’s projects in Egypt, particularly in the food and personal care sectors, as per a statement.

El-Khatib stressed the government’s commitment to fostering a stable and competitive investment climate that supports local production and export growth.

He underscored the role of international companies like Unilever in driving economic activity and job creation, describing the company as a key partner in Egypt’s development agenda.

The Minister highlighted opportunities for foreign investors in sectors aligned with Egypt’s sustainable development goals.

He praised Unilever’s contribution to the food and personal care industries and its efforts to expand production within Egypt and the region, noting that its model of investment incorporates environmental and social responsibility.

El-Khatib confirmed the state’s support for Unilever’s expansion plans across the Egyptian and African markets, especially in light of trade agreements with African countries.

He said the government is working to enhance intra-African trade and logistics by establishing logistics centers and linking Egyptian ports with their African counterparts.
