Egypt secures EGP 32B in FY 2022/23 budget for development projects until mid-May

Arab Finance: Egypt secured EGP 32 billion of the total allocations for the budget of fiscal year (FY) 2022/2023 to implement the development and services projects across governorates, estimated at EGP 35.8 billion, until mid-May 2023, according to a statement on June 3rd.

Minister of Local Development Hesham Amna said that expenditures within the FY 2022/2023 budget include EGP 1.8 billion for electricity connection projects and EGP 20.3 billion for road construction works.

He added that a sum of EGP 4.3 billion was spent on environmental projects all over the country, EGP 1.5 billion were disbursed on security, fire extinction, and traffic systems, and EGP 4.3 billion went towards revamping local units and premises.
