Arab Finance: Egypt achieved an economic growth of 3.8% during the elapsed fiscal year (FY) 2022/2023, down from a previous forecast of 4%, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Elsaid said in an interview with Asharq Business on November 2nd.
Finance Minister Mohamed Maait revealed before that Egypt recorded a primary surplus of EGP 164.3 billion in FY 2022/2023, equivalent to 1.63% of the gross domestic product (GDP) during the previous FY, and targets 2.5% of GDP for the current FY 2023/2024.
In October, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) trimmed its forecast for Egypt’s GDP for FY 2023/2024 to 3.6% from its previous projection of 4.1%.
