Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the $7.5 million expansion of SIRAJ Group’s FLARE factory in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), as per a statement.

Located within Orascom Industrial Parks, the 1,100-square-meter expansion increases the factory’s production of light-emitting diode (LED) systems for indoor and outdoor applications across commercial, industrial, service, residential, and green spaces.

The inauguration concluded Madbouly’s tour of the industrial zone, during which he opened and inspected several factories.

Madbouly said localizing advanced engineering industries linked to urban development and infrastructure is essential to implementing national projects in line with the latest technical standards.

Producing modern lighting systems in Egypt would help meet local demand for high-efficiency products, increase reliance on domestic manufacturing across development projects, and support the adoption of more energy-efficient and sustainable solutions, he added.

Moustafa Shaikhon, Chairman of SCZONE, said the expansion demonstrates the ability of Egyptian companies to grow specialized engineering industries within the economic zone as demand for modern lighting solutions increases across development projects.

He added that the project supports the local production of modern lighting systems and aligns with SCZONE’s efforts to attract technology-based industries and develop industrial products. These activities would diversify the zone’s industrial base while serving local and regional markets.

During his tour of the facility, Madbouly inspected its testing laboratories, electronic components production line, laser metal-processing equipment, aluminum die-casting machines, and finished products.

Nabil Youssef, Chairman of SIRAJ Industries, said the FLARE factory now occupies 3,000 square meters following the expansion, with total investments reaching $11 million. The facility provides about 150 direct and indirect jobs.

The factory has an annual production capacity of 600,000 lighting fixtures and 1 million electronic boards. It can also produce 2,500 tons of die-cast aluminum components, apply electrostatic coatings to 3,000 tons of metal products, and form 7,500 tons of metal annually.

The additional capacity will enable the factory to serve the domestic market and development projects while expanding its presence in international markets.
