Egypt’s ICT sector growth accelerates to 13.8% in FY2024/25: IDSC

Arab Finance: Egypt’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector recorded a real growth rate at fixed prices of 13.76% during fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025, compared to 8.43% in FY2013/2014, according to a report by the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

The report also highlighted strong growth in Egypt’s digital exports, which rose by 7.2% year-on-year (YoY) to $7.4 billion in 2025 from $6.9 billion.

Outsourcing services exports reached $5.2 billion in 2025, higher than $2.4 billion in 2022 and $4.3 billion in 2024. The figure more than doubled over three years, with outsourcing exports targeted to hit $6 billion in 2026.

Moreover, IDSC pointed out that the ICT sector continued to attract higher public investment, as its value rose from EGP 750 million in FY2013/2014 to EGP 27.69 billion in FY2024/2025.

As for the telecommunications and internet user base, the number of mobile phone subscriptions reached 125.65 million lines in March 2026, marking an annual growth of 8.47% from 115.83 million.

Active mobile internet subscriptions increased by 9.48% to 94.43 million in March 2026 from 86.25 million a year earlier. High-speed fixed internet subscriptions also rose to 12.95 million from 11.87 million during the same period.

Regarding investments, public investment in the ICT sector surged from EGP 750 million in FY2013/2014 to about EGP 27.69 billion in FY2024/2025.
