Egypt’s imports of Israeli natural gas rise 52% YoY in 9 months

Arab Finance: Egyptian imports of Israeli natural gas went up by 52% year on year (YoY) during the first nine months of 2023, hitting 236.6 billion cubic feet, a government official told Asharq Business.

Egypt’s average daily imports of natural gas from Israel was 837 million cubic feet throughout the January-September period, compared to 575 million cubic feet over the same period of last year, the official noted.

The North African country is targeting increasing natural gas imports from Israel by at least 38% by the end of 2023 by importing around 290 billion cubic feet of gas, up from 210.2 billion cubic feet in 2022, he added.
