Arab Finance: Mercedes-Benz has launched its logistics center in Ain Sokhna’s industrial zone under an agreement with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), according to a Cabinet statement on March 16th.
The center aims to facilitate transport, distribution, and storing operations of cars from the port to the industrial zone to be rolled out in the local market, said SCZone’s Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein.
Some 135 staff members are working at the center, which consists of a car storage area, spare parts storage area and maintenance workshop, Mercedes-Benz Egypt’s CEO Gerd Bitterlich said.
The projects comes within the framework of the SCZone’s strategy to lure foreign investments to its ports and industrial areas as part the country’s plans to achieve the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) 2030, he added.
