Egypt releases $107M worth of corn, soybean fodder from ports in 7 days

Arab Finance: Egypt has released 237,000 tons of corn and soybean fodder worth $107 million from the country’s ports during the period from April 28th to May 3rd, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al-Sayed El-Quseir stated on May 8th.

The released amount comprised 189,000 tons of corn worth $68 million, 48,000 tons of soybeans valued at $36 million, and $3.4 million worth of feed additives.

This brings the total amount of fodder released from October 16th, 2022 to May 3rd, 2023 to 4.5 million tons, including 3.3 million tons of corn, and 1.2 million tons of soybeans, and feed additives at a total value of $2.2 billion.

This is part of the government's efforts to secure the release of production inputs and fodder from ports in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
