Arab Finance: Egypt’s investments to support green industry and environmental compatibility will be increased by €150 million, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad stated on May 18th.
The minister’s remarks came during a videoconference held between Fouad and the European Investment Bank’s (EIB) Vice President Gelsomina Vigliotti to discuss updates on the joint Green Sustainable Industry program.
The minister noted that the program would boost Egypt’s sustainable development by providing concessional financing packages of up to €268 million to public and private industrial institutions in order to fund green projects.
She added that the country seeks to continue cooperation with the EIB in the implementation of the third phase of the Egyptian Pollution Abatement Program (EPAP).
