Arab Finance: Egypt and Iraq have signed 11 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on the sidelines of the second round of the Egyptian-Iraqi Higher Committee, the cabinet stated on June 13th.
The first MoU was signed between the Central Bank of Iraq and the Egyptian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Another one was inked between the Iraqi Foreign Services Institute and the Egyptian Institute for Diplomatic Studies to cooperate in the fields of diplomatic training and expertise exchange.
Moreover, Iraq’s Federal Public Service Council has sealed an agreement with the Central Agency for Organization and Administration in the fields of management and public and civil services.
A fourth agreement was signed by the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in the tourism sector, while another technical cooperation MoU was inked by Iraq’s Ministry of Trade and Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, with the aim of joining the World Trade Organization.
Furthermore, two MoUs were signed in the field of youth and sports between the Iraqi and Egyptian ministries of youth and sports.
Another two MoUs were also signed by the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity in the field of labor.
In addition, Iraq’s Ministry of Planning has signed two agreements with the Egyptian Institute of National Planning in the field of expertise exchange.
