Housing Miniter follows up on drinking water situation in Fayoum

Arab Finance: Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has met with several officials to follow up on the drinking water and sanitation services’ situation as well as on the implemented and ongoing projects in 2023 in Fayoum, as per a statement on August 16th.
A sum of EGP 9 billion was allocated for the sanitation services expansion project to improve the quality of water of Qarun Lake.
Moreover, around EGP 200 million were dedicated to substitute and revamp the drinking water stations and sewerage systems across the governorate, the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater’s (HCWW) Chairman Mamdouh Raslan said.
Aditionally, 68 cooperation protocols were signed with civil societies and civil society organizations to connect 12,930 families to water and sanitation systems, Fayoum Drinking Water and Sanitation Company’s (FDWASC) Mohamed Al-Naggar noted.
