TAQA Arabia launches 1st CNG station in Tanzania

Arab Finance: TAQA Arabia has launched Tanzania’s first integrated compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station and conversion center under the brand name “Master Gas”, as per an emailed press release.

The project was executed by TAQA Dalbit, a joint venture between TAQA Arabia and JCG Oil and Gas that invests, develops, and operates filling stations and conversion centers to convert and fill vehicles with CNG.

The CNG station is set to serve up to 800 vehicles a day, and it is the first of a series of 12 stations that will be implemented by TAQA Dalbit over the coming years with investments of over $10 million.

“TAQA Arabia is committed to expanding its presence in the Tanzanian market across various areas, one of which is providing CNG filling stations and conversion centers to enable and supply cars with compressed natural gas,” the Chairman of TAQA Arabia Khaled Abu Bakr commented.

“With its know-how, track record of successful energy projects, TAQA Arabia is willing to support Tanzania in benefiting from its gas reserves and great energy potential in the most effective, efficient, and sustainable solutions,” CEO of TAQA Arabia Pakinam Kafafi noted.
