Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session in the red zone, with the EGX30 index down 0.68% to 54,994.31 points.
The Shariah index fell by 0.99% to 6,605.65 points, while the EGX35-LV dropped by 1.86% to 6,771.4 points.
Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index closed the session lower by 2.77% at 20,480.58 points and by 2.29% at 26,999.44 points, respectively.
A total of 2.773 billion shares were exchanged at EGP 13.511 billion over 282,498 transactions, with the market cap hitting EGP 4.337 trillion.
Retail investors controlled 66.02% of trading transactions, while institutions made up 33.97%.
Egyptians dominated 86.74% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 10.41% and 2.85%, respectively.
Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 179.868 million and EGP 58.816 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 238.684 million.
