Arab Finance: Egypt has extended the deadline for filing real estate tax returns to the end of December 2026 to allow taxpayers to benefit from new incentives and facilitations, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said in a statement.
The ministry also extended the deadline for submitting applications to settle tax disputes and benefit from an exemption from late-payment charges by six months, to April 2, 2027.
The extensions come in response to requests from experts, media professionals, and citizens.
More than 2 million real estate units have been registered through the ministry’s mobile application over the past 100 days, while 1.5 million citizens have created electronic accounts on the app and 1.2 million tax returns have been submitted, Kouchouk revealed.
He also stressed that the ministry would work with all seriousness and effort to develop the mobile application and simplify and facilitate procedures to provide a distinguished service to our partners.
The ministry will immediately work to improve the system and increase its capacity to handle the large number of people seeking to register and benefit from the new facilitations, the minister added.
It will also significantly expand technical support teams to help citizens and address any obstacles they face, Kouchouk pointed out.
Moreover, the ministry will incorporate feedback, suggestions and comments received from citizens, the media and social media platforms, he noted.
