Egypt Approves the Largest Social Protection Package

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi approved an EGP 180 billion new social protection package to mitigate the economic burdens on citizens.

The package includes a 50% raise in the minimum wage for all workers in the government and upgrading the tax exemption limit by 33%.

It also includes a 15% increase in pensions.
