ArabFinance: Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced the release of 172,000 tons of corn and soybean fodder from ports at a total value of $81 million on December 21st and 22nd, according to an official statement on December 26th.
In coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), about 146,000 tons of corn and 26,000 tons of soybeans were released at a value of $58.4 million and $19.2 million, respectively, agriculture minister Al-Sayed El-Quseir revealed.
Furthermore, El-Quseir said that around $3.4 million worth of feed additives were also released from ports.
Thus, the amount of fodder released from customs during the period from October 16th to December 22nd reached 1.427 million tons at a total value of $713 million.
On December 25th, the Egyptian Cabinet Spokesperson Nader Saad revealed that the government released around $5 billion worth of goods from ports from December 1st to 23rd.
