NTRA imposes EGP 20.5M fine on Vodafone over 4G network breakdown

Arab Finance: The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has imposed a fine of EGP 20.5 million on Vodafone Egypt for the recent 4G network outage, according to a statement.

NTRA has also directed Vodafone to compensate the customers affected by this issue as per the general compensation rules set out by the authority for service providers in the country to protect user’s rights.

On March 5th, Vodafone experienced a technical issue in terms of network which led to a disruption in calls and mobile internet services.
