Emirates NBD - Egypt signs WEPs to foster gender equality

Arab Finance: Emirates NBD – Egypt has signed the United Nation’s ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs)’, an initiative launched by UN Women in collaboration with the UN Global Compact, as per an emailed press release.

The signing signals the bank's dedication to fostering gender equality and empowering women in both the workplace and society at large.

Embracing these principles will enable Emirates NBD - Egypt to build on a workplace culture that values inclusivity and diversity.

Consequently, this will contribute to the country’s efforts in recognizing the sustainable development goals outlined in Egypt Vision 2030.

“At Emirates NBD Egypt, we profoundly believe in gender equality, and through the adoption of the UN’s Women’s Empowerment Principles, we reinforce our commitment to empowering women economically and socially. This strategically aligns with our vision for driving sustainable development and fostering inclusivity in the workplace, propelling societal advancement and boosting the Egyptian economy,” Amr El Shafei, CEO and Managing Director of Emirates NBD - Egypt, stated.

"Our partnership with UN Women marks a significant milestone in our journey towards gender equality in the workplace, a cornerstone of sustainable development,” Amgad Doma, Head of the Strategy and Sustainability Sector at Emirates NBD - Egypt, said.
