Egypt, UN Global Compact explore joint cooperation

Arab Finance: Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat met with Chief of Government Relations and Africa at the UN Global Compact Tolulope Lewis-Tamoka to explore means of joint cooperation, according to a statement.

This is part of the close partnership between Egypt and the United Nations and their strategic partnership framework for 2023-2027.

During their meeting, Al-Mashat welcomed Tamoka. congratulating her on the first annual forum of the UN Global Compact in Egypt.

The Minister highlights the forum’s importance in encouraging private companies in Egypt to adopt sustainable practices and environmental and social standards, which consequently supports the Sustainable Development Goals.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in exchanging expertise and knowledge.

In this regards, Al-Mashat presented the ministry's efforts to launch the Hafiz platform that provides financial and technical support to the private sector, connecting the sector with development partners.

For her part, Tamoka presented the Unstoppable Africa initiative, which was launched in New York last September.
