Egypt raises subsidized bread price to EGP 0.20 starting June 1st

Arab Finance: The price of subsidized bread loaf will be increased to EGP 0.20 as of June 1st, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on May 29th during a press conference.

The cabinet will work on enhancing the governance of the subsidy system, Madbouly added.

This move aims to reduce the financial burdens borne by the state and ensure that subsidies reach those who are entitled to them, he noted.
