Egypt to drill 30 additional groundwater wells in Tanzania

Arab Finance: Egypt and Tanzania have agreed to proceed with the drilling of 30 additional groundwater wells and the construction of two rainwater harvesting dams in the latter, as per a statement.

The agreement is an extension of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked earlier by both sides, under which 30 groundwater wells were drilled in remote areas in Tanzania to provide citizens with pure drinking water.

The announcement was made during a meeting between the Egyptian Minister of Irrigation Hani Sewliam and the Tanzanian Ambassador to Cairo Richard Mutayoba to mull over strengthening cooperation in the water sector.
