Arab Finance: Trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan fell to $864 million in 2023, compared to $990 million in 2022, according to data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The value of Egyptian exports to Jordan declined to $658 million last year from $732 million the year before.
Similarly, the value of Egyptian imports from Jordan dropped to $206 million from $259 million in 2022.
In fiscal year (FY) 2022/2023, remittances of Egyptians living in Jordan decreased to $415.3 million from $792.9 million in the previous FY.
On the other hand, remittances of Jordanians working in Egypt fell to $5.6 million last FY from $9.6 million in FY 2021/2022.
Moreover, Jordanian investments in Egypt recorded $134 million last FY, down from $119 million a FY earlier, while Egyptian investments in Jordan dropped to $183.6 million from $226.2 million.
