Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices closed with gains on Sunday, with a market capitalization of EGP 1.837 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index gained 2.44%, ending the session at 27,062.37 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 2.93% to close the session at 6,103.3 points, while the EGX100 EWI grew by 2.98% at 8,810.84 points.
The sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, added 2.60%, closing the session at 2,677.59 points.
Today’s trading saw 1.035 billion shares exchanged over 87,475 transactions, garnering a turnover of about EGP 2.935 billion.
Retail investors controlled 76.7 % of total trading transactions, while institutional investors seized 23.29% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 90.73% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 5.47% and 3.81%, respectively.
Egyptian investors were net purchasers with EGP 163.623 million. Arab and foreign were net sellers with EGP 51.159 million and EGP 112.463 million, respectively.
