Egypt receives 7 offers to develop government HQs in downtown Cairo

Arab Finance: Egypt has received seven local and international proposals to develop eight government headquarters located in Cairo, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Elsaid told Asharq Business.

The government is seeking to offer these ministerial buildings, situated in the heart of Cairo and along the Nile Corniche, to private sector investors.

Evaluating the headquarters and the offers will be finalized in the second half (H2) of 2024, Elsaid added.

Earlier this year, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi decreed the removal of the public benefit status of 13 government headquarters, transferring their ownership to the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE).

It is noteworthy that most ministries were relocated in the New Administrative Capital, 45 kilometers far from Cairo.
