Arab Finance: The site of El-Dabaa Nuclear Plant has witnessed the arrival of the new giant crane Zoomlion, Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) Amged El-Wakeel announced.

This is the second-largest lifting apparatus at the site and will be used in the installment of the reactor core trap for the third nuclear unit.

The crane, with a maximum height of 156 meters, can lift equipment weighing up to 2,000 tons.

A special platform made of reinforced concrete slabs with steel sheets was constructed to support and operate the heavy crane.

The Egyptian government is seeking to commence the trial operation of El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant’s (NPP) first reactor by the second half (H2) of 2027.
