Demand for gold bars, coins in Egypt fall 27% YoY in Q2

Arab Finance: Demand for gold bars and coins in Egypt dropped by 27% year on year (YoY) in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024 to 7.6 tons, compared to 10.4 tons in Q2 2023, as per a report by the World Gold Council.

On the other hand, gold jewelry demand in the country grew by 2% YoY to 6.8 tons in Q2 2024 from 6.7 tons.

In addition, consumer demand fell by 16% YoY to 14.4 tons in the three months to June 30th, 2024, from 17.1 tons.
