Arab Finance: The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has probed cooperation opportunities with the US-based technology firm Meta to leverage the metaverse technology in digital tourism promotion, as per a statement.

This came during a meeting between the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy and a delegation from Meta to discuss the progress of the Instagram Filters virtual reality (VR) project.

The project aims to enhance the visitor experience at the Egyptian Museum in downtown and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat by recreating the original appearances of selected artifacts

The project is set to be launched soon, the statement read.

Moreover, Meta is planning to launch specialized applications on social media to raise awareness among the youth of the Egyptian civilization.
