EGX closes Thursday on mixed note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices have closed Thursday’s trading on a mixed note.

Market capitalization closed the session at nearly EGP 1.974 trillion.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 0.43%, closing the session at 28,750.82 points.

The sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, added 1.12%, concluding the session at 2,765.82 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 (EWI) shed 0.08% to end at 6,502.67 points, while the EGX100 inched up 0.05%, wrapping up the session at 9,335.5 points.

Today’s trading saw million 969.801 million shares exchanged over 107,431 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 3.356 billion.

Respecting, investor’s trading activity, retail investors seized 80.15% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 19.84% of trading.

Egyptian traders constituted 91.61% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 5.15% and 3.24%, respectively.

Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 64.771 million. Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 41.339 million and EGP 23.432 million, respectively.
