Egypt’s annual core inflation rate records 24.4% in July: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate recorded 24.4% in July, compared to 26.6% in June, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced.

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) inflation recorded 0.5% last July, compared to 1.3% in the same month of 2023 and 1.3% last June, the CBE stated.

The data also showed that the annual urban headline inflation rate registered 25.7% in July, compared to 27.5% in June.

On July 10th, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that Egypt’s annual headline inflation narrowed to 25.2% in July, compared to 38.2% in the same month of 2023.
