Egypt allocates EGP 7B to address medicine shortages

Arab Finance: Egypt has allocated EGP 7 billion to ensure the rapid availability of essential medicines and medical supplies in hospitals and pharmacies, as per a statement.

This decision follows a meeting led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to review ongoing efforts to address shortages in the drug market and improve the availability of medical supplies.

Last month, Madbouly announced a plan to adjust the prices of certain medicines in the market.

In June, the Egyptian government formed an advisory committee to review the prices of medicines every six months amid the current fluctuations in the Egyptian pound’s exchange rate against foreign currencies.
