Arab Finance: The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has received the 10th shipment of the 21 agreed-upon liquified natural gas (LNG) to meet the state’s demands for power plants and fertilizer factories, a government official told Al Arabiya Business.

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has received the latest shipment loaded by the LNG tanker ARAN GAS Troy at Ain Sokhna Port, the official said.

The official also highlighted that the petroleum ministry has received another LNG shipment loaded by the vessel PERTAMINA GAS TULIP on August 12th.

The new shipment comprises over 150,000 cubic meters of LNG, and is set to be pumped into the national grid after regasification, he added.

Furthermore, the ministry is set to receive between three and four LNG shipments within the coming two weeks as scheduled with suppliers, the official pointed out.

It is worth noting that Egypt is reportedly planning to import up to 17 new shipments of LNG during the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year.
