Arab Finance: The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has successfully resolved 75% of the ongoing medication shortage, Head of EDA Ali Ghamrawy told Asharq Business.

Efforts are underway to further increase the availability of drugs, with the authority aiming to achieve more than 90% availability by the end of September.

In August, Egypt announced it allocated EGP 7 billion to ensure the rapid availability of essential medicines and medical supplies in hospitals and pharmacies.

Madbouly unveiled before a plan to adjust the prices of certain medicines in the market.

In June, the Egyptian government formed an advisory committee to review the prices of medicines every six months amid the current fluctuations in the Egyptian pound’s exchange rate against foreign currencies.
