LNG supplies to Egypt’s Idku terminal set to resume in Q4: Shell

Arab Finance: Shell announced that gas supplies to Egypt’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal at Idku are expected to resume in the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year, an unnamed Shell spokesperson told Asharq Business.

The Idku facility, operated by the Egyptian LNG Company, has a total capacity of 7.2 million metric tons per year.

The Egyptian government plans to restart gas flows to the Idku terminal despite production being disrupted by regional tensions, the source noted.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas halted output at a local gas field, one of the terminal's key suppliers, according to the spokesperson.

The Idku terminal, alongside Damietta LNG, plays a crucial role in Egypt’s LNG export strategy.

The last shipment from Idku was in April, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg.
