Madbouly in talks with China’s ZTE for mobile phone factory in Egypt

Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with the Chairman and CEO of China’s ZTE Corporation Li Zixue to discuss the possibility of setting up a ZTE's factory in Egypt, specializing in manufacturing mobile phones and tablets, as per a statement.

On the sidelines of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) 2024, Madbouly expressed Egypt’s interest in having such a factory to partially meet the local market’s demand for these devices.

This factory would also export to neighboring regions, leveraging Egypt’s trade agreements with African, Arab, and European countries, Madbouly said.

Additionally, he assured ZTE of the Egyptian government’s support by providing benefits and incentives, including the issuance of a golden license to facilitate carrying out the project.
