Arab Finance: The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) are probing cooperation to promote the investment landscape in Egypt and support EGX investors, as per a statement.
In a meeting between the Minister of Investment Hassan El Khatib and the EGX’s Chairman Ahmed El Sheikh, they discussed the latest updates on the state’s initial public offering (IPO) program and plans to boost the EGX trading volume.
Both also discussed a number of proposals to streamline the procedures of raising capital for EGX-listed firms.
For his part, El Khatib stated that both sides agreed to set a joint working mechanism to facilitate the procedures offered by the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) for the EGX-listed companies.
He added that they are currently studying several proposals concerning the capital gains tax.
