Egypt’s annual core inflation rate records 25.1% in August: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt's annual core inflation rate recorded 25.1% in August, compared to 24.4% in July, according to a press release from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) inflation hit 0.9% in August, compared to 0.3% in August 2023 and -0.5% in July 2024.

The data also revealed that the annual urban headline inflation rate increased slightly to 26.2% in August from 25.7% in July.

Meanwhile, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported that Egypt’s annual headline inflation fell to 25.6% in August, down from 39.7% in the same month last year.
