Egypt, Germany discuss expanding trade relations in roundtable meeting

Arab Finance: The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib chaired a roundtable meeting attended by major German and Egyptian companies to discuss strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Cairo and Berlin, as per a statement.

El Khatib highlighted that Egypt is well-positioned to become a regional industrial and export center, thanks to its strategic transport links and qualified labor force.

The trade exchange between Egypt and Germany currently stands at €7 billion, with efforts underway to boost these figures further.

The meeting also touched upon Egypt’s promising opportunities in renewable energy, with German businesses expressing interest in localizing more industries in Egypt for export to African markets.
