e& Egypt, NCTS collaborate for advanced satellite communication services via Tiba 1

Arab Finance: e& Egypt has signed an agreement with the National Company for Telecommunication Services (NCTS), a subsidiary of the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) under the Ministry of Defense, to provide advanced communication services to its customers using the Egyptian satellite Tiba 1, Al Mal reported.

This memorandum of understanding (MoU) aligns with e& Egypt’s strategy to enhance its service offerings and extend coverage nationwide through the latest communication networks.

It aims to meet the needs of customers in remote areas and support economic growth and key investment sectors.

The NCTS, responsible for managing the commercial operations of Tiba 1, is currently the only entity licensed by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to operate satellite networks in the Ka-Band frequency.

The company began offering its services in January 2024, providing space capacities for licensed companies to offer satellite-based communications using the VSAT system.

The agreement enables e& Egypt to deliver a wide range of modern and advanced communication services via the Tiba 1 satellite’s commercial carrier, addressing the needs of areas with weak traditional communication infrastructure.

This will allow e& Egypt to provide comprehensive coverage across the country.

This new service is expected to provide a competitive advantage for various investment sectors in Egypt, including oil and mining companies, as well as tourism firms offering safari trips in remote locations.
