Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has inaugurated Bashteel Railway Station in Giza, the country’s largest railway station, the presidency reported.
Developed by Hassan Allam Construction and Hassan Allam Roads and Bridges for the Ministry of Transport, Bashteel Station is a transformative project aimed at revolutionizing rail travel for passengers traveling from Upper Egypt’s cities to Cairo and Alexandria, as per an emailed press release.
It aims to relieve pressure from Misr Railway Station, known also as Ramses Station, is four times larger.
Located on a 57-feddan area, the station comprises 11 railway platforms, 28 ticket windows, and a garage, as well as commercial, administrative, and investment areas.
El-Sisi also inaugurated 20 other transportation projects, including the third phase of the third line of the Cairo Metro.
Commenting on the inauguration, Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding, stated, “The inauguration of Bashteel Train Station marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enhancing Egypt's transportation sector.”
