Arab Finance: The Egyptian government is working on issuing a new social protection package, a government official told Asharq Business.

The new package will include raising the wages of state employees and increasing monthly pensions by 15% at least.

This is in addition to increasing the number of beneficiaries of the Takaful and Karama program, as well as raising the amount of funds allocated for the program.

On April 11^th, the Egyptian government increased the social protection package for the current fiscal year’s (FY) budget to EGP 635.9 billion, up by 20% from the EGP 529.7 billion allocated for the past FY.
