Arab Finance: Italian energy firm Eni is set to resume drilling at the Zohr natural gas field in December, with the arrival of a rig to drill two new wells, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi said in a press conference.

The government aims to boost production at the field by up to 220 million cubic feet daily after the drilling, Badawi noted.

The country’s production capacity increased by 30,000 barrels of oil daily and 133 million cubic feet of natural gas during the first quarter (Q1) of FY 2024/2025, Badawi highlighted.

He added that the country’s current overall production stands at 1.4 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.
