Government launches one-day market project in Alexandria

Arab Finance: The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk has inaugurated the one-day market project for farmers and food products in Alexandria, as per a statement.
This market is part of the government’s efforts, in participation with the private sector and international experts, to achieve sustainable food security, Farouk noted.
The project is launched in cooperation with several Egyptian and Italian entities and funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Being held weekly, the one-day market aims to facilitate direct supply of commodities from farmers to consumers, avoiding the conventional trading channels.
This contributes to meeting the demands of citizens at affordable prices in order to mitigate the impact of price hikes.
